SONG: SOLO-ING SOLDIER (3:38)
(© 2003 Words- Betty J. Curtis -Music by J. Gale Kilgore)

This song is the "Old Man" theme. We hear it first here, as he appears in the next scene. It is sung in two later scenes. Also used as background to indicate his presence sometimes.

SINGER: Mario: as tribute to the "Old Man", when he gives him the guitar.
SOLO-ING SOLDIER

Solo-ing Soldier,
what drum do you hear ?
You travel alone.
You go anywhere.

You seem sort of wise.
A bit lonely too.
There's dreams in your eyes,
still shining through.

Chorus
I don't know your battle, if it's an old one or new.
Do you have any medals ? What flag flies for you ?
Is it a battle, wherever you roam,
defending the weak, because you are strong ?
Time's growing older. Some will get through,
Solo-ing Soldier -
thanks to people like you.

Solo-ing Soldier -
I offer salute.
I recognize courage,
and I see it in you.

Solo-ing Soldier,
silent and strong,
I hope you'll remember
this Tribute in song.

Repeat Chorus

Followed by song: "Road Without A Name"-
(Old Man - to explain his situation.)
