I call this a French Ballad because
I hear the 'chanteusse', when I read it.

LOVING EYES
I was walking in the plaza. It had just begun to rain.
My head was full of lonely. My heart was full of pain.
I watched the couples scatter from a small sidewalk cafe.
As I drifted to a table, a guitar began to play.

(melancholy guitar interval)

Another drifter entered, afloat in afternoon,
and sat down at a table - The guitar had changed the tune.
Sun began to shimmer. Clouds were vaporized.
I forgot my sorrow, and got lost in the eyes.
(lighter guitar mood)

Chorus
Loving eyes, like beacons, shine across the Sea,
enfold us in a sharing, and set our longing free.

Years roll on like rivers. The hearts entwined that day,
have sailed upon the waters, together all the way.
In just one golden moment, true love sets us free,
and starts our lives to flowing, like rivers to the Sea.

It may come in the Morning, or in the Evening glow.
Be prepared to listen, and watch, so you will know.
Though the soul is lonely, and the heart is sad,
just the tender touch of true love, turns it all to glad.

Chorus
Loving eyes, like beacons, shine across the Sea,
enfold us in a sharing, and set our longing free.
