HEARTSTRINGS

It's a whispering weather today,
when old memories and old dreams,
come out of the shadows to play,
an old sweet song on heartstrings.

You could recite it like verse.
You could sigh it, or you could sing.
There's nothing sweeter, of course,
than an old love strumming heartstrings.

(Chorus)
Heartstrings tie us together,
even though we are miles apart,
and whenever it's whispering weather,
they make a sweet song in the heart.

When we're all alone and remember,
through the air, like fluttering wings,
an old song from some past September,
comes strumming across our heartstrings.

Like a dreamer turning the pages,
it's softly drifting along,
finding it's way through the ages,
another sweet heartstrings song.

(Chorus)
Heartstrings tie us together,
even though we are miles apart,
and whenever it's whispering weather,
they make a sweet song in the heart.
