YESTERDAY'S ROSES

Yesterday's Roses are sweet memories.
Autumn winds blow them. Winter winds freeze.
The thorn that defended Beauty's display,
still is defending, though petals are frayed.

Chorus
Yesterday's Roses, live on in the heart.
Their Beauty reposes, awaiting Times' Art.
They will blossom again, on some far-away day.
They will scent a new Wind, with their gentle sachet.
Yesterday's Roses, live on in the heart,
like a Flame in the Dark.

Yesterday's Roses, like Yesterday's Dreams,
pass into the Ages on Time's flowing stream.
The Memory lingers. The Root waits for Spring,
like Song waits for Singer, and Birds wait to sing.

Chorus
Yesterday's Roses, live on in the heart.
Their Beauty reposes, awaiting Time's Art.
They will blossom again, on some far away day.
They will scent a new Wind, with their gentle sachet.
Yesterday's Roses, like a Flame in the Dark,
live on in the Heart.
Yesterday's Roses, live on in the Heart.
