RAIN ON THE ROOFTOP
Rain on the rooftop,
one good excuse,
to sit by the fireplace,
and sip on my soup.
Wind whistles 'round,
its half-hearted tune.
Bluesy sound,
haunting the room.
Chorus
Maybe next week, I'll get me together -
jump-start the heart, and out-run the weather.
Me and the wind, both on the run.
Rain on the rooftop will dry in the sun.
Rain on the rooftop,
leaks to the eyes,
a memory mist,
no big surprise.
Wind whistles 'round,
its half-hearted tune.
Bluesy sound,
haunting the room.
Chorus
Maybe next week, I'll get me together -
jump-start the heart, and out-run the weather.
Me and the wind, both on the run.
Rain on the rooftop will dry in the sun.
