RIVER ROLLING ON
When you watch the falling leaves,
and the River rolling on;
when something in you grieves,
be glad you've got a song.
You can sing yourself to sleep,
and forget it all awhile,
when the shadows seem too deep,
to be lightened by a smile.
Chorus
You can dream about tomorrow,
and a place where you belong.
Heart and soul can borrow,
the comfort of a song,
while the River's rolling on.
When you hear the rain at night,
falling all night long,
it may sound something like
the rhythm of a song.
Like the Stars that shine on high;
like the Light that comes with Dawn,
and runs across the Sky,
the River's rolling on.
Chorus
We can dream about tomorrow,
and a place where we belong.
Heart and soul can borrow,
the comfort of a song,
while the River's rolling on.
