MOURNING NEWS
Somebody died in L.A. last night.
News didn't mention the name.
Just a picture of a body, wrapped in white,
and an ambulance standing in the rain.
Somebody got out of bed that morning,
showered, brushed their teeth, and dressed.
They didn't know; they had no warning,
that it was the day of their death.

It happens daily, people hurry away,
off to office, school, or road, or plane,
and they never guess they've gone to stay,
and won't come home again.
Somebody died in Miami last night.
News didn't know a reason or name.
We see it on T V - a body wrapped in white,
and an ambulance standing in the rain.
Somebody died on the Beach last night.
No information, who, or why.
Some soul washed away in a watery sight,
or maybe flew away to the sky.

When they left that morning, did they say "I love you",
to someone who kissed them and said "goodbye" ?
Or did they hurry away from a lost,lonely view,
and someone who didn't care why ?
